In 1911, Hughart’s Supply Inc. was founded by Marvin Hughart, who primarily sold feed and hardware locally. After nearly 50 years of business, Hughart sold his company to Ralph Schlobohm in 1974. Ralph decided to expand the business to include plumbing and heating supplies, and eventually opened two other locations in Monongalia County.
Sabraton, WV, was the first location of Hughart’s Supply Inc.’s expansion in 1985, officially transforming the company into a small chain in order to serve more customers. In 1990, Ralph opened his third store in Star City, WV, providing the local clientele with high quality HVAC and plumbing supplies and services. That location has since been closed.

In 1994, Ralph Schlobohm passed the business on to his son, Gary, who has been running the company ever since.
